Mike grew up on Long Island competing in the Junior Hunter, Junior Jumper and Equitation divisions. After college, he turned professional and opened up his business, Lynnewood Stables, which is named after his favorite equitation horse, Lynnewood Hall. As a professional, Mike has enjoyed many successes as both a rider and a trainer in all three rings. He has had top placings from the Grand Prix ring to the High Performance Working Hunters, right on down to the Baby Green Hunter division and the Young Jumpers. His students have enjoyed victories from the Short Stirrup ring all the way up through the Grand Prixs.
Mike approaches teaching and training with a patient and compassionate philosophy. He concentrates on building a solid foundation by instilling confidence in both horse and rider. He works with each rider to develop a plan and set goals for the future. Mike has earned the respect of his students and peers alike with his calm and workmanlike demeanor. He is a true horseman, always putting the needs of the horse before any other.
Long Island's north shore is home to Mike, his wife Lexey Hall, and their children Zachary and Lucy.
Boarding is offered through Hunter’s Moon Farm in East Norwich, NY.
Hunter’s Moon is a beautiful 60 acre facility located in Nassau County on Long Island’s north shore. There are several barns on the property, two which have been newly renovated. They offer spacious outdoor rings with state-of-the-art footing, as well as a new indoor arena for year-round riding. Horses enjoy downtime in large grass paddocks, in addition to several all-weather sand paddocks. Hunter’s Moon has direct access to the Muttontown Preserve, which offers 550 acres of protected land and maintained horse trails.
